A venue I know well

I have played The Matara Centre near Tetbury. The Hilarium, with its central glass dome, is a stunning room, and with a sound limiter to work within, it is one where knowing the venue really counts.

So when you book me, you are not getting a DJ seeing the room for the first time on the day. The set-up, the timings, the way the energy carries from dinner to the last song. I have done it here before, and I will do it for you.

I know the limiter

Matara has a sound limiter and it can be sensitive, so it really pays to have a DJ who knows how to fill the Hilarium with a full sound without tripping it. I have done it here enough times to keep the floor moving and the limiter happy.

I read the room, not a playlist

I have watched this floor fill enough times to know when to push and when to hold. The set is built around your night and your crowd, on the night, not from a list sent weeks before.

I bring the full rig

I bring my own proper sound and lighting, set up and tested before your guests arrive, so the night sounds and looks exactly as it should.

How early do you get there to set up?
I arrive in good time to load in, set up and soundcheck, so everything is tested and ready well before your guests arrive. I confirm exact access timings with the team beforehand.
Can we have confetti?
Yes, natural petals or biodegradable confetti.
Do they allow haze and foggers?
Haze is what makes the lighting look incredible, and I run my CO2 effects for the big moments. Heavier smoke I always clear with the team first.
Is there a sound limiter?
Yes, Matara has a sound limiter and it can be sensitive, so it really pays to have a DJ who knows how to work within it and still fill the floor. I have done it here enough times to keep the sound full and the night flowing.
Any other restrictions worth knowing?
There is a midnight curfew, and Matara keeps a recommended-suppliers list. Everything else we plan together.
Anything to be aware of for a party here?
The Hilarium is the main party space, a grand banquet and dance hall with a central glass dome, set in a Grade II listed estate in 28 acres. Up to 150 seated, 200 standing.
